MV Sting Ray
Recently named one of the world’s best budget-friendly liveaboards, the MV Sting Ray is a fantastic option for traveling in the Maldives. Sailing to the South Male and Ari Atolls, this liveaboard falls within any diving budget while maintaining the class and comfort of a Maldivian liveaboard.
With the Sting Ray, you’ll be transported to the land of mantas and whale shark. Your dive adventure will be enhanced with excursions to deserted islands with pristine white sands reaching out into crystal-clear waters.
9 cabins can accommodate 19 guests. A crew of 8 man the 102-foot (31-meter) vessel, ensuring each guest is well-catered to throughout the 7-night journey.
All diving occurs from the ship’s dhoni, which is fitted with a ladder for easy access out of the water. After each dive, you’ll arrive back to the Sting Ray where the crew waits with fresh coconuts and other snacks.
Nitrox is available onboard for a fee, and a full bar offers a bit of relaxation after a full day of diving.
Scattered pearls in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives’ warm waters are a great place to see mantas rays, whale sharks and an incredible rich array of colorful reefs and fish.
Diving in the Maldives is a dream. Warm water, stunning marine life and all the comfort you ever wanted can be found around these islands.
Due to the sometimes very strong current, most of the dives in the Maldives are drift dives. You’ll jump into the water and glide along the reef in the direction that the current is going. The boat will come and pick you up when you surface.
There are mainly two typologies of dive sites:
Kandu: kandus are “channels”, drift dives along walls. They’re great locations for finding big pelagic fish and for covering long distances. Thila: thila are submerged pinnacles that can also experience heavy current. Here you can see colorful reefs and marine life.
- DEAL 1: The 20% discount can be applied to the October 15th, October 29th and November 5th departures of the MV Sting Ray.
- The offer can be applied to new bookings made after September 8, 2016.
- This special deal cannot be combined with any other promotions or money-saving offers.
